I have some news!

Hi There!!

There have been alot of conversations with our Family and Friend's lately and its all started with...

"We have some news.....No I'm not pregnant"

"I have been offered an amazing opportunity in Sydney, so we are moving"

Followed with tears, questions and alot of hugs.

"What will happen with JellieBellie" is a common question, I will keep it going, but will be taking a break for a couple of months off while we get settled. I can still do custom orders, and will focus mainly on the Etsy store for selling stuff.

I have been offered a job that I told Gabe would be one of my dream jobs, I applied for it on a whim and several interviews later (including being flown to Sydney for a day), I was offered a position of Home Furnishings Business Manager for Ikea. Yep Ikea. I LOVE Ikea. You have no idea how stoked I am!

I start in  3 weeks, so we are busy getting stuff sorted and packed (and selling stuff too!), along with trying to organise ourselves in Sydney.

Keep your eyes peeled if I have time I might organise a quick sale!

Thanks for all of your support and I hope you will stick around and see what JellieBellie will bring next!

Take Care

What's happening??

Hi There!

I have been struggling to think of something to write about, and also have been lacking in motivation to sew! We have been enjoying the fabulous weather that has been throughout New Zealand, and gasp even in Palmerston North!! Palmy even has been in the 30's!

I was introduced to a website that talks about minimalism and have been reading it and finding inspiration from it. We were feeling bogged down by the stuff we had, and since decluttering we are feeling lighter and more organised. Cleaning the house is now so much quicker, and I find myself doing jobs I NEVER used to do (Like dusting!), as there is alot less stuff around. We have not gone extreme minimalism  but are finding a happy balance that works for us! I have even sorted and moved my sewing area and it will be ready for unveiling next week! AND I got rid of my giant bin of scraps to a local kindy, AND also donated them fabric I really wasn't going to use. It feels so good to organise my sewing area! Check it out at the link below

http://www.becomingminimalist.com/becoming-minimalist-start-here/

I have been doing abit of baking lately too! Sugar-Free Muffins for Leon, and he loves them! He gets so excited when he see's the baking tin :) And also made a birthday cake for our friends daughter's first birthday, they were joking I should branch into birthday cakes! ( I don't have the time for that!)
Leon guarding his baking!

Katy's 1st Birthday Cake!

Anyway I best get finishing sorting the sewing area so I can make up some new ties, bags and baby boots!
And also start applying for some markets, I will let you know where I will be next!
Take Care :)

Still in Holiday Mode!

Hi There

I don't know about you but I am struggling to get back into work mode!

We had our Godson for just over a week and am still recovering from it! We had a ball with him, baking, scootering, swimming, crafting and playing games, he enjoyed his time with us and is looking forward to coming for another visit.

I have been struck with a spring cleaning/ getting rid of stuff bug and the house has been turned upside down,  if we haven't used it for awhile it is going! I want to clear enough stuff out so I can set up my sewing stuff in the spare room, the only downside is I don't know where our guests will sleep (as we have a 2 bedroom house), I am thinking about getting a fold out couch for the lounge :)

I have finally listed a pile of stock in my Felt store, so make sure you go and check it out and spread it around if you can! http://felt.co.nz/shop/jelliebellie

Happy New Year!!

Hi There!

I know its abit late, but better late than never!

I hope you and your families had a terrific Christmas and New Year!

We have been so busy it feels like our feet haven't touched the ground, leading up to Christmas I was so busy making custom orders and keeping the Made it here shop in Napier filled with stock that I didn't get a chance to complete my Christmas Shopping until the 23rd & 24th of December!
We headed back to Napier for Christmas , and it was lovely to actually do the Christmas shopping with Gabe as he had been teaching summer school at Massey and we hadn't seen each other much.

Christmas day was fun and busy. It was our nephew Leon's 1st Christmas and he was abit unsure about what was going on, but he enjoyed the wrapping paper! And when he figured out there was new toys he was pretty happy about that!
Leon's 1st Christmas!! (The Nerf Gun was his Dad's!)

We then ate to much for breakfast, then headed around to my family's house for lunch. Our Godson's followed their Uncle around and kept him busy with "Uncle Gabe watch me Swim" "Uncle Gabe did you know I can...". They got a ninja each for Christmas and Jackson told me that it was his best present!
Christmas evening we had more family time back at Gabe's parents, with too much food, ping-pong wars, nerf guns, alot of laugh's and drinks!

I was very lucky to receive a few handmade pressies which I am totally in love with!
A Beautiful Embroidery From Laura!

A Lovely Bay from Casey!

A beautiful Cookbook filled with lovely Photos from Summer & Sienna! (I know the photo is upside down...Blogger is doing something strange today!)

On the 27th we headed to Wellington as our friend's Jimmy & Chie were having their Kiwi Wedding, as they had were married in Japan in 2011. It was supposed to be a surprise to me that they were all wearing my ties!, but Chie let the cat out of the bag. It was still a lovely surprise to see who had which tie! There were 8 Star Wars ties and 2 Dr Who! It was such a lovely ceremony, and a great evening with lots of yummy food, laughter, speeches and KARAOKE!
JellieBellie Ties!!!
Gabe, Cain, Jimmy, Ikuho, Leon, Chie & Me (The Best group photo we got!)

We had such a great time and we were so lucky to be a part of the great day! We wish you both a long and happy life together filled with love, laughter, fun, family, crazy friends and karaoke !

New year we headed back to Napier, where there was more food, sangria, ping-pong wars (again!), music, laughter and family time! After a few days there we headed home for a break!

I have yet to start sewing again, but hope to tidy up my disaster area of a craft area and get back into it later this week! I will be stocking my Felt & Etsy stores in the next week of so, and will let you know when it is done!

Hope you are having a relaxing day!

I'm still here!

Hi There

I know I said I would blog more once exams were over but we were thrown a couple of curve-balls in our lives.
We are getting through them with the support of our family and friends, and we are staying as positive as we can be while trying to live life as positively as we can.

In the mean time JellieBellie is keeping me sane! As you are aware I have been stocking the Made.it store in Wellington and the response has been overwhelming! More stock has been sent....and then more ties had to be found and made cause they cant get enough of them!  It really makes me so happy to see so many people enjoying my creations!
Stock gone to Made.it

Another opportunity has 'popped' up...some of the Fab New Zealand Handmade people have organised a pop-up shop in Napier, and I will be sending them a few lines to stock in store!! The store opens Monday 10th of December and will be there daily until the 24th of December! I will be sending some Star Wars Bags, Ties & Ninjas! Let me know if you have any requests and I will pop them in the delivery!
